Although the features available in comments on WordPress may seem rather limited, there is more flexibility than is at first apparent. This is because it is possible to use the markdown language in composing comments on this site. By learning a few simple codes it is hence possible to use several features which are illustrated in the following examples:
Markdown Text | Result |
---|---|
This is *italic* text | This is italic text |
This is **bold** text | This is bold text |
This is ***bold italic*** text | This is bold italic text |
This is a link [OEIS](https://oeis.org/) | This is a link OEIS |
The full markdown language is available and it is even possible to use tables. There is a useful tutorial on markdown here. If you want to type an actual * (or any special markdown symbol), precede it with a backslash symbol (\).
